Autumn, 2005

Colorful leaves brighten the East End during the warm October days at Camp Nicolet.

Autumn days of 2005 were very quiet around camp with the exception of the activity of hammers and saws around the area of the office and canteen. Jamie and Bob were very busy replacing the roof on the office, as well as remodeling the interior. The post office now has a nifty new look for the popular time of day known as "mail call". The camp canteen has also received some special touches and seems like a separate little store, ready for all the great new camp gear that will arrive in the spring of 2006. Campers can enjoy their first camp shopping trip on the first day of their assigned canteen time.

The back road already awaits the June arrival of the 2006

camp buses filled with campers ready to begin a new summer

adventure with lots of new camp friends!

Congratulations 2006 "First Ladies"!

Welcome to Camp Nicolet!

The driveway into camp is ablaze with amazing color making even the cloudy days seemto be filled with sunshine.

A big welcome back to those campers who have been the very first to send us their registrations for the 2006 camping season. We are happy to have you back at Nicolet once again and look forward to the best summer ever! Who do you think is THE very first First Lady of 2006? The lucky winner will be announced at camp and will be awarded a new Nicolet T-shirt!

A Special Thanksgiving!

More than ever this Thanksgiving, I am personally giving thanks for all my wonderful friends, family, fellow camp professionals, and our Nicolet family. Thank you one and all for your many cards, flowers, e-mails, visits, and phone calls during my recovery from my accident this fall. A special thanks to Chris, Crystal, Jeremy, Jamie, Eric, Dan, Cathy, and Kelly for physically putting "camp to bed" for the winter and to Jeremy, Kelly, and Cathy for doing my desk work after camp. I've gained a whole new insight to the power of healing related to having people care, combined with the determination to give one's best effort to make the most of any situation. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing many of you at the Chicago January 20th Midwest Open House!

Remember...think sunshine!
