Holiday Issue, 2005

Happy New Year to our Nicolet family and friends! We hope that you all enjoyed your Holiday Season and school vacations and that 2006 will bring good health and happiness to you all. Speaking of...have you received your 2006 camp calendar?

Many thanks to alumna, Kelly O'Dea, for the super graphic design and production, and to Dan Jahnke, Karen Julyan, Chris and Jeremy Starz, Crystal Ward, and Anissa Widule for the great photographic contributions. Looking at the days and months ahead, we have many exciting events coming up. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the Midwest Open House on Friday, January 20th at the Winnetka Community House in Winnetka, IL. Jeremy is currently busy editing the new 2005

annual DVD entiltled "CN '05 - Dream Big" which will be premiered that evening. Our 2005 camper/staff photo albums are also in the process of being compiled and will be

mailed to all 2005 campers as soon as possible. In the meantime, enjoy this issue of

2005 Nicolet Holiday news!

By Special Request...

the recipe for Nicolet Cookie Cups

you will need:

- chocolate chip cookie dough mix

- a cupcake pan with paper cup liners

- Cool Whip (lots)

Mix the dough so it's nice and gooey and then spoon it into the paper liners

in the cupcake baking pan. Bake at the

oven temperature specified on the mix

directions. Bake long enough that the

outsides are done, but the middle of each cookie cup is soft. Remove from oven, cool and put a big spoonful of Cool Whip on the top of each one. Oh yeah! Yummmmm!!!

The "Chips" Addition

Campers whose mothers were also campers at Camp Nicolet are fondly known as "chips". Already this year we have four new chips that will be joining us this coming summer. We're looking forward to showing them the same good time, many adventures, and all the new friendships that are possible at camp.

They are:

Isobella Antelis

(Jennifer Levy)

Mindy Feldman

(Debbie Dinkin Feldman)

Alexa Markman

(Sharon Mendelson Markman)

Mariana Ramirez

(Laura Fernandez)

            Mini Reunions Across the Country

Wow! Who are these dressed up young ladies? None other than campers from Pines and Juniper who

enjoyed a big celebration in honor of Lexi's Bas Mitzvah in Nashville, Tennessee. Congrats, Lexi!

The Nashville slumber party. Did anyone really sleep?

The Loomis family is becoming famous for their annual

mini reunions! Smiles all around on the campers who

gathered in Chicago in early December to have a fun

weekend with Nicolet cabinmates.

Kirby came from California to visit the Chicago crew.

Nicolet Staff & Alums in the News

Abby announced her engagement to this special

young man who she will marry this summer.

Chris, Jeremy, and Gabe (and Georgi too) enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner at Adolph's in Park City, Utah where Chris, Gabe, and Crystal are living and working this winter. Love that year round skiing!

Chris, Rossi, and Crystal at their Park City pad.

Alumna Cathy Scheder visited camp over New Year's.

The Camp Nicolet Advisory Board held their annual meeting at the home of Lisa and Cary Cochrane (Kate)

on December 10th. A good meeting with lots of new and exciting plans for the future!

Judy, Kelly, and Katy Eagen enjoyed a little holiday

break at their Northwoods home near Conover, WI.

Kelly Ed was one of 55,000 thrill-seeking spectators who watched 110 of the world's biggest names in action sport at the 2005 Gravity Games H2O which was held in Perth, Western Australia last October. Notice the Northpoint

T-shirt! Good promotion, Kelly.

Speaking of Kelly Ed...she now has a short do! A Christmas Kodak moment with Mr. and Mrs. Edwards.

                     Winter Scenes at Nicolet

Cross country skiing in the Outpost is lots of fun...especially the highline hills!

Do you think that reindeer live here during the winter instead of horses?

Nicolet mushers who stay in the Village cabins enjoy 12 miles of groomed trails right out their backdoor.

Nearly 100 howling huskies trot the trails that we

ride on horseback during the summer! The mushers will be returning in February for Eagle River's famous

Klondike Days weekend of winter activities.

The Starz family, Jeremy, Chris, and Georgi, wish you a warm and wonderful 2006!
