Slap Bang Here We Are Again!

A big congratulations to two more cabin groups that are 100% re-enrolled for the 2005 camp season. We're looking forward to having all these young ladies join us again this summer for more awesome adventures. By the way, Little Fawn, Fir, and Birch are running a close race to be the next 100% cabins. You go, girls!

The 2005 Staff First Ladies

Since the last newsletter you've probably all been breathlessly waiting to find out who the first staff member was that sent in their return froms for 2005 (Lisa). In addition, we are now happy to tell you who the very first staff person is that returned their contract (Katy). We're delighted to have both of these outstanding long-time Nicolet campers, CITs, JCs, and now staff members return to be with all of us for another super summer.

                                                Katy Eagen                                   Lisa Goldstein

Who is creative, crazy, full of energy and always smiling? Also loves hanging out in the Tahiti ski boat and leading campfire songs? Katy Eagen...that's who! Katy will be returning for her 9th summer at Nicolet. And here's to Lisa Goldstein: our resident cheerleader, Isle Royale veteran camper, super fun cabin counselor, and Nicolet "Chip" who will be returning to Nicolet for her 10th summer. Time flies when you're having fun!

"Put Your Foot..."

Look who deserves a medal! Morgan and Brady Loomis and their camp pals had a mini reunion before the Holidays during which time they had fun hanging out and doing some other important things as well. These campers collected and contributed some very nice camp clothes to help out any kids that come to camp on camperships or would need help completing their packing list. If you have a riding helmet, boots, uniform shirt, or any other camp clothes you would like to contribute, it would be a very thoughtful donation and greatly appreciated. Thanks, gang!

Also, kudos to Allison Adams and Katy Eagen for their assistance in compiling and

publishing the new Welcome to Nicolet booklet. Hopefully you have received your new "hot off the press" edition and will remember to bring it to camp with you.

Annual Franklin Lake "Ice Off" Contest

When will the ice completely melt off of Franklin Lake this spring? Whoever (separate camper and staff categories) has the closest guess to the date and time will win a brand new 2005 Nicolet T-shirt from the camp canteen. Send your guess before June 1st! Fax: 715-545-3737 or e-mail: campnico@newnorth.net.

April, 2004...when will it melt in 2005????

"I have a conviction that a few weeks spent in a well-organized summer

camp may be of more value educationally than a whole year of formal school work"
