Open House Issue, 2006

We gave a big welcome to many new and prospective 2006 campers at the January Midwest Open House.

Friday evening, January 20th was the long awaited Camp Nicolet Midwest Open House. Despite the snowy weather, well over 100 campers, parents, staff and alumni gathered at the Winnetka Community House for our annual mid-winter event. Lots of yummy munchies are always a big hit, but the big highlight of the evening was the premiere showing of the new camp DVD "CN '05 - Dream Big". Especially entertaining in the 2005 production is the introduction of various segments by several campers (who certainly must be on their way to Hollywood after gaining such fame). Many thanks to Jeremy Starz who once again did a super job of editing and spending numerous hours on post production. Last, but definitely not least, the Open House offered the opportunity for new campers and families to meet returning Nicolet campers, staff, and alumni and to find out about the many wonderful things that the summer of 2006 will bring. 145 days and counting until camp time!!!

Camp songs are fun to sing throughout the whole year...at campfire, in the car, in the shower, etc.

Our infamous song leaders...

Jeremy and Cliff have fun drawing door prizes.

"Cool...a camp T-shirt!"

Smiles all around for new and old campers and alums.

Georgi, Jeremy, and Cathy represented Nicolet at the

Camp and Summer Fairs West and North on Saturday and Sunday sponsored by Chicago Parent Magazine and the American Camp Association - Illinois Section.

Katy, Cathy, and the 2005 CITs start the evening on a high note! That would be "Hello! Hola!"

and the equally energetic CITs, soon to be Junior Counselors this coming summer.

Lucky new campers won lots of "camp gear" prizes.

Friends old and new reconnect at the open house.

Why does everyone always think we bring all this snow from Wisconsin? Hmmm.

It was wonderful to see so many alumni in attendance at the Midwest Open House.

Welcome...
