Week 2. 2005

"Grin and Bear It Day" at Nicolet!

At the beginning of each session there is an all-camp photo morning when all the campers

and staff don their official Nicolet green and buff and smile for the camera. Sometime during

the winter each camper will receive a surprise package with their very own 2005 photo album filled with photos and good memories of this summer. Smile!

Legacy campers, or Chips off the ol' block, A.K.A. "Chips"

These campers and staff have moms (or dads) that have been either campers or staff at Nicolet in past years. We

will welcome even more "Chips" during 2nd session.

                     Happy 4th of July!

The Advanced Campers did a bang up job of waking everyone up with their pots and pans!

Left: Paul Revere and the redcoats ride the road and wake-up the East End campers.

Above: Definitely a red, white, and blue breakfast!

Right: campers at Chris and Crystal's table are ready

Floats based upon popular American movies was the theme for the patriotic cabin contest. Pictured is Little Fawn's version of "Harry Potter".

Balsam's rendition of "Men In Black" was fun to see.

"Batman" and all the scary characters were portrayed by cabin Cedar.

The Advanced Campers in Lakewood entertained us with their depiction of Robin and his merry band.

Spruce's "Wizard of Oz" was the grand prize winner!

The enthusiastic blue team were the overall winners of

the 2005 Independence Day field games.

Week 2 Special Happenings

Opening campfire in the Council Ring included skits, songs, and the Totem Tale.

Birch and Fir campers receive their cabin mascots at the

opening campfire...take good care of them!

Little Fawnites hug their doe and fawn cabin mascots.

Our SCUBA instructors, Phil and Joe, enjoy working with

campers and staff to earn their official PADI Open Water

certification. Session 2 will be a special SCUBA  review.

Our 2005 sailing team competed in the Camp Kawaga

Invitational Regatta held on July 6th. One of our boats

placed 2nd out of 30, and overall Nicolet finished 4th.

Isle Royale Backpackers Depart

Staff members Gabe, Jeremy, and Molly strike a send off pose with our 2005 Isle Royale Honors Backpackers.

The seven day adventure takes these campers to a beautiful wilderness island in Lake Superior that is accessed

only by boat or float plane. Not far from Canadian shores, they will have a chance to see wildlife such as fox

and moose. Returning next Wednesday evening, we will look forward to hearing all of their tall tales of the Isle.
