Week 7 - Part A, 2007

Riders Win Horseshow Honors

The 63rd annual Nicolet Horseshow took place on Tuesday, August 7th at the camp stables and riding area. Riders participated in the Walk, Walk/Trot,  and Canter Equitation classes. A fun Musical Stalls event was added which was the horsey version of musical chairs and showed skill in being able to park one's horse in an imaginary stall when the music stopped. The final highlights of the afternoon were the Jumping and Gambler's Choice classes where Nicolet equestrians demonstrated their skill in jumping their horses. Congratulations to all our riders and the riding staff for a safe and exciting afternoon at the horseshow!

Good luck from supportive non-riding buddies.

Staff Perform Class Acts in Talent Show

Just say "hit it"!

The forever progressive saga of the CIT's "Hope on a String"  gave everyone a good laugh.

The traditional staff dress up act "Say a Little Prayer".

Hey Teena - you go girl!

Alexis wows us with her juggling skill.

The Cookie House Cookie Monster song...yummm!

The infamous Australian Bobsled Team with Captain Jodi in control...that is, until the Aussie bobsled (a.k.a. bench) unexpectedly broke off a back leg part way through the treacherous course. Better luck next year, team - back to the drawing board!

Once again, campers were highly entertained as staff performed for them in the annual staff "talent" show. Traditional acts such as the tennis crew's "Chariots of Fire", learning to ski act from Katy and Christine, "Say A Little Prayer", and of course, the Australian Bobsled Team fiasco are always favorites and flavored with some new surprises as well.

Idol Christine and her great ukulele performance.

A new treat this year was a guest appearance by ol' Frankie himself with a medley of Sinatra hits.

The Jodi and Katy dance team.

"Old MacDonald had a farm..." by Tina and Laura.

Ice baby, ice.

Action on the Court - Tennis Finals 2007

Campers and staff gathered on Sunday afternoon at mid court to watch two fun tennis matches between our tournament finalists. Zoe and Lexi met once again in the singles competition with Lexi coming out on top. Chloe and Madison challenged veterans Lexi and JLo in the doubles match. After putting up a good showing, the newbees succumbed to the pressure and lost the challenge. Congratulations to all the participants in this year's tournament!

Volleyball Fun

Meanwhile on the sand volleyball court, campers also participated in a fun volleyball tourney while the tennis matches took place on the tennis courts. Good rallys and serves were in abundance on Sunday afternoon!

Doubles teams included JLo, Chloe, Lexi, and Madison.

A toast to us for being here!
