Week 7 - Part B, 2007

2007 Water Ski Show Makes History!

The annual camper/staff Nicolet Water Ski Show was a huge success with perfect weather and water conditions, enthusiastic skiers and spectators alike, and exciting acts that were performed to near perfection...then came the grand finale. Everyone

cheered loudly as the pyramid - the first all-camper pyramid in Nicolet history - rounded the bend and came into the show course. Thanks to all the ski staff and the participants for a safe, successful, and entertaining ski show!

Portraying the show theme of "Monsters", Christine kidnaps camper Liddy for a 2 on 1 ski act.

Always an entertaining act, the human skis trio of LP, Dan and Julia get set up on shore.

Some colorful faces in the monster clown act.

The ski staff just "tubing around".

Anissa gets high on the air chair.

Monster Andy ollies over the swim perimeter ropes.

Water Ski Director, Christine, demonstrates a step off and some fancy barefooting for the audience.

"Hit it!" and they're planing off for the longest run ever.

DJ Jeremy announces the show and adds color and entertainment to the various acts.

A trick skiing trio.

The small flag act...it's capers time!

The CITs - don't rock the boat, baby!

Maddie makes short work of the shoe skis.

The triple wakeboard act was a successful new addition for 2007.

Knees and elbows by Abbey.

The Building of a Pyramid

Step one in building a successful pyramid...

Our camper narrators for "Monsters".

The smiling pyramid campers included Madison, Lexi,

Chloe, JLo, and Abbey. Good job, gang!

...sometimes the other steps aren't quite so easy. That's why it takes many hours of practice determination, and optimistic attitudes by the skiers and the tow boat crew.

Nicolet Players Present "Bye, Bye Birdie"

Bye, Bye Birdie, written in 1960, is a satire on American society and rock culture. We see this more clearly now with pop culture seeping into even the purest of settings - Nicolet itself! Our campers easily adapted to the celebrity-crazed teens. They were also thrilled to play annoyed parents and even the rock star himself!  The 2007 Nicolet Players did a wonderful job with this famous broadway musical which was enjoyed by campers, staff, and numerous parents.

Albert and the Sad Girls.

The Conrad Birdie Fan Club.

Sami, Gabi, and Maddy played the MacAfee family.

Kim (Quincy) and Conrad (Madison) at the Icehouse.

Albert and Gloria Rasputin.

The fan club watches Conrad drink breakfast.

Amy, as Mrs. Peterson, was truly the comical hit of the entire evening.

Mrs. Peterson in a tizzy about Rosie and Albert.

The telephone kids.

Conrad gets the key to the city, but all the girls faint when he speaks - even the mayor's wife!

Ed Sullivan introduces a " really big show..."

Curtain call for all the supporting actresses.

A big bow for the MacAfees.

"We love you, Conrad, oh yes we do!"

Applause for Mrs. Peterson, Albert, and Rosie.

Kudos to Katy, along with the great Stage Crew, set designers, and music makers for directing a great performance.

Picture A Spot

Picture a spot of beauty rare,

Picture a sky so blue so fair.

Paint it with rainbow hues so bright

Then tone it down with shades of night.

Frame it with inspiration true,

Then let it thrill the heart of you.

A picture of Nicolet t'will be,

A challenge to you and to me.

- camp song-

Picture a Spot was the 2007 Final Banquet theme for 2007.
