What A Camper Learns

Clothing

General Clothing Information

The CLOZ Company is Camp Nicolet's official supplier. You will receive a pamphlet and order form in our spring mailing. You may also shop online with the link on our homepage that goes directly to the CLOZ site. The following guidelines should also assist you in selecting camp clothing for your daughter.

  • Select clothing that is comfortable, is easy to maintain, and is appropriate for a summer camp environment.

  • Pack clothes that your daughter already has at home, as there is no need to buy new clothing just for camp.

  • Please do not send expensive designer clothing or items that require special care in washing or drying. Our laundry service uses conventional equipment and water temperatures.

  • All items of clothing, bedding, and equipment must be marked for easy identification.

  • Please avoid over packing!

  • Towels and bedding are available to our international campers for a small rental fee.
  •

The Following are REQUIRED of All Campers:

  • Bathing suits: Two high-visibility brightly colored bathing suits are required for all swimming activities. Red bathing suits are not acceptable, as red is the color worn by all of our instructors and lifeguards. A quick-drying nylon fabric is recommended.

  • Sleeping bag with nylon stuff bag: Small and lightweight - down-filled bags are not recommended. A protective nylon stuff bag is necessary to roll ,store, and carry the sleeping bag.

  • Day pack: A small backpack of waterproof nylon to be used for hiking and camping activities.

  • Tennis wear: Tennis shoes are required (no black soles, please) and campers must bring their own racquet to camp.

  • Riding wear: If your daughter is participating in the riding program, a hard hunt hat (SEI approved is required) with a chin strap and a pair of riding boots (English or Western) are necessary. A pair of tie shoes with smooth leather soles and heels may be substituted for boots.

  • Camp uniform: Our camp uniform consists of tan shorts and/or pants, a monogramed polo shirt, a nylon camp jacket and white athletic shoes. The shirt and jacket are available through the camp clothing supplier and are required of all campers. These are worn during Sunday dinner, Vespers, camp photo day and out-of-camp activity exchanges with other camps.
  • Special and Extended Trips

If your camper is participating in any special or extended trips this coming summer, please click below to view the packing lists for the individual trips. The items listed on these packing lists are REQUIRED in effort to make the trip experience as positive for your daughter as possible.

The Following Items are NOT to Be Brought to Camp:

We do allow walkmans, discmans, Ipods, or MP3 players for in-cabin use during rest hour.

  • We DO NOT allow DVD players, laptops, cell phones, pagers, radios, hairdryers, or any other electronic devices at camp. We strongly believe that camp is a place for your daughter to develop communication and socialization skills and therefore, interact with her camp pals and staff, to learn to make her own music, be creative, and to leave the distractions of the city behind for a time. This is part of the value of her camp experience.

  • No skateboards, please.

  • Candy, gum, or any food items are not to be brought or sent to camp. No clothing with inappropriate logos, symbols, etc.

  • Valuable jewelry or large sums of cash. These will be collected and kept in our camp office safe.
