"Wow, it's busy!!"
a Newsletter Staff Contribution
"Wow, it's busy!" Perhaps a sentence properly used in conjunction with
"Time flies when you're having fun!" How true. The past week has been very busy at Nicolet, full
of exciting events and special days. The coming week, July 7th through the 13th, is no exception. Coming up
are many special days, including Marathon Day 2002, the annual Riding Gymkhana, and more. On Wednesday the CITs and Advanced
Campers will travel to Camp Manito-Wish in Boulder Junction for their leadership course, which will include a high ropes-course adventure.
Thursday, July 11th marks a special day in Camp Nicolet history as a select group of campers will depart for the Isle Royale Honors Trip.
Not since Wendall Schrader himself led the traditional Canadian Honors Trip has such an endeavor been embarked upon at Camp Nicolet. Everyone
at camp is very, very excited about the addition of this trip to the program - a trip which we hope to make part of traditions here at camp.
On Friday, July 12th parent visitation will begin. If you are planning a visit to camp, please call our office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for more
information and visitation specifics. And, looking ahead to Saturday, it's really hard to believe July 13th officially marks the end of 1st Session
2002 at Camp Nicolet. What a wonderful few short weeks it has been, and we look forward to a great 2nd Session 2002! Please check back later
this week for full coverage of Marathon Day, the Riding Gymkhana, and so much more! Thanks again for checking out this edition of "News from Franklin Lake"
and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine in the Northwoods... rain or shine, though, the many happy campers and staff at Nicolet will say, "Wow, it's busy!"
