It's officially the final week of the 2004 regular camp session here at Camp Nicolet - and things aren't winding down... no way... we're getting all geared up for a fantastic final week full of awesome and exciting activities which represent many years of Nicolet tradition! Before we bring you pictures from some of these activities to come, we want to get you all caught up on what's been happening at camp this past weekend. It was our big Harry Potter Day theme activities which included a special dining hall night this past Saturday night, and then a day filled with Harry Potter-esque activities on Sunday which included broom races, a dizzy broom relay, an invisible cloak relay, a quiditch tournament, and more! It was a really fun weekend which united Harry Potter fans young and old. The Porcupine Mountains Backpacking trip departed this past Monday, and the second section of the trip is still out on the trail. We have some great pictures to show you from the first trip, and we'll bring you those in a future edition of the newsletter. Hope you enjoyed all the pictures from the Harry Potter Day events and from the Second Session Talent show. In the next edition of News from Franklin Lake we will bring you pictures from the first section of the Porcupine Mountains Backpacking Trip and from the Staff Variety Show which is coming up on Friday evening. To give you a brief preview as to what's coming up, this weekend the annual Nicolet Horse Show will take place, as will a special Wizard of Oz dining hall night which will be followed by Final Campfire. All of these activities will happen on Saturday. On Sunday the Nicolet Tennis Tournament Finals will be played, and Candelight Vespers will happen on Sunday night. Monday is a big day, as the Annual Nicolet Water Ski Show will take place in the morning, and the Second Session Little Theatre presentation will be held on Monday evening. Monday is also the last day of parent visitation, as camp is closed to visitors on Tuesday. Wednesday is the final day of the 2004 regular session, and it's hard to believe that time is drawing near. But first things first - there are some wonderful activities still to come - about which we're all very excited here at camp.
