Hello
again and welcome to this special Isle Royale edition of News from
Franklin Lake. Here we would like to share all kinds of pictures
from the 2004 Isle Royale Honors Backpacking trip which took place
July 8th through the 14th. An energetic group of girls and their
leaders left camp headed for a challenging 7 day, 35 mile backpacking
trip at one of the most rugged and least traveled-to national parks
in the United States. The participants, leaders included, learned
lots about setting goals to achieve a larger goal, the importance
of working together, the importance of supporting and encouraging
each other, as well as learned things about themselves of which
they may have not been priorly aware. The trip was outstanding -
with beautiful weather for the most part, full days of hiking, and
lots of good food. We're excited to share these pictures from the
trip with you - in this edition of News from Franklin Lake!

The Isle Royale Honors Trip truly is an experience
for all campers and staff involved - and we're already looking forward
to next year's trip. Coming up in the next edition of News from
Franklin Lake we'll show you lots and lots of pictures from the
2004 Nicolet Olympics, which is another great Nicolet Tradition.
But before we go, we have another "newsletter
rewind" for you. This time we have some pictures from the archives
from the First Session welcome and introductions... we'll take a
quick look back on the first evening of camp in 2004! How these
pictures escaped the newsletter staff the first time around, well,
I couldn't tell you... but here they are now! Have a look, and until
the next edition of the newsletter, Think Sunshine!
